The aim of the course is to provide the students with the theoretical tools and practical experience necessary to do applied econometric research. This course places particular emphasis on estimation and interpretation of the standard linear regression model, and as such the lecture sessions will include a number of illustrations of empirical econometric studies and their possible re-estimation using the same data sets in workshop sessions.
