MPH-201: Microeconomics
(MPH-201)

The basic objective of the course is to brush-up their knowledge of microeconomics the students have acquired so far. In doing so, as an instructor I have very little scope to go beyond the conventional text book topics on the subject. But using some real life examples we can make the students learn about how to solve such problems, and more importantly, to provide them an opportunity to fill the gap in their understanding of the subject, if any. The conventional tools like diagrammatic illustration and mathematical representation (at very preliminary level) will largely be used to model the economic behavior of the micro agents like producer, consumer etc. So, having basic knowledge of calculus will be an advantage for the students. However, since there is no foundation course this year where it was usually taught to the students until last year, I will discuss these tools briefly in the class.
